Killer Leg Day

Got 5 good circuits in hitting or surpassing my previous highs. Time was a bit long but I honestly did not slack too much. Much of the time is spent adjusting weights. Hanging leg raises and toes to bar continue to be an area for improvement as I am doing between 2 - 4 toes to bar and a total of 6 - 8 leg raises (with toes to bar included in that) each set. The goal is 10.

Warm Up:

Leg Routine - 15 reps 1st circuit, 12 reps for 2nd, 10 reps for 3rd, 8 reps for 4th, 6 reps for 5th moving up in weight on each circuit. Do 5 circuits.

Incorporate 10 core reps in between each set and 10 burpees (w/ 5 pounds dumbbells in each hand) at the end of each circuit:

Notes / Results:
  • Time: 80 minutes. Last time did it in 70 but previous times were at 80. I really did not slack off during this workout. Not going to beat myself up for the extra time today.
  • Weight: 200. Still working to crack this plateau.
  • Machine Squats - max 6 reps @ 250 on 5th cycle. New record and I can go higher. Early circuits with more reps are more difficult than later circuits with more weight.
  • Barbell Deadlift - max 10 reps @ 195 (75 each side + bar) on 5th circuit. Better than last time but all time high was 205. I can get there again next time.
  • Barbell Lunges - max 6 reps @ 85 on fourth circuit. Had hit this high before and ready to challenge 95 next time.
  • Straight Leg Deadlift - max 6 reps @ 180 (70 each side + bar) on 5th circuit. Although this is a 10 pound improvement over the last time I have been up to 185 in the past and am ready to challenge that again.
